A Journey To Discover Your True Identity In Christ

The enemy would love for you to focus on your negative behavior – the acts of the old man.” I want to announce to you that your sinful behavior was nailed to the cross with Christ! What we are dealing with is no longer our unrighteous behavior, but it is old habits, and guess what? Habits can be broken. Christ took care of the acts of unrighteous, but we have to get rid of the old habits! How do we do that? Like any thing else we want to die, we stop feeding it, and it will die! We are free to grow and glow. 2 Corinthians 3:18 states, “And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit” .

Sister and brothers, there will never be a perfect time to walk in obedience and operate in the supernatural power of God. This process is a must if we are to reap the blessings that Father longs to bestow upon us. Ecclesiastes 11:4 (AMP) states, “He who watches the wind [waiting for all conditions to be perfect] will not sow [seed], and he who looks at the clouds will not reap [a harvest].” It is time for us to speak to our situations and then trust the Lord to empower us to turn the tides in our favor. God is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient, He is in charge, but He has given us control! Let's stop quoting what we have heard for so many years - that prayer changes things - and then set back and wait for God to actually change “the things” and when the things don’t change, we become disheartened and disappointed and then unbelief began to set in. News Flash! Prayer changes people, and people change things, and God can change anything! However, in many cases, He does not because He has commissioned us to change “the things.” Did He not say we are as He is in this world (1 John 4:17) and that greater works we would do (John 14;12)?

I am totally convinced that depression, boredom, and pitiful, powerless unanswered prayers are partly due to us not getting about the work Father has ordained for us to do. Did you know that we can get distracted and busy with doing nothing? Doing nothing can become a habit! We sit around and say, “Well, I am waiting on God to move.” Guess what? He is waiting for us to move! He will not give any new instructions unless we do the last thing He told us to do. He reveals His plan for us in steps and phases, and we trust and obey - that’s called walking by faith! If you have forgotten your way and have not heard the voice of Father in a while, pray and ask Him to resurrect and refresh the vision He has given you. Matthew 7:7 says, “Ask, and it shall be given…” He declares, “The sheep that are My own hear My voice…” (John 10:27 Amp.).

There is a sense of urgency for us to find our place and know who we are in Christ, for what to come shortly will challenge us as Christ was challenged by the devil in the wilderness. If you do not know who you are and whose you are when the voice of the enemy comes and like challenges we too can say, “It is written…” But you have to know what is written. That being said, don’t neglect God’s Word for therein lies your identity - who you are and whose you are! When you act like who you are your behavior will change, and the habits of the old man will be broken -one by one as we submit them to the Father.

Stay the course and take this journey with me as I will share weekly with you and together we will grow and glow from “Glory to Glory.” He is well able to get us where we need to be (Jude 24-25)!

Shalom!
